Kathmandu, Jan. 30 -- Interim Nepali Prime Minister Sushila Karki paid homage to the martyrs at the Sahid Smarak, a commemorative site in Kathmandu on Martyr's Day.

Prime Minister Karki, along with the Council of Ministers, laid a wreath at the statues of those who sacrificed their lives for democracy and the republic's establishment. Issuing a message, the Prime Minister said that the courage, consciousness and determination of martyrs have brought the country to a historic turning point.

The Prime Minister Karki paid heartfelt tribute to all martyrs who sacrificed their invaluable lives for civil liberties and democracy.
