New Delhi, Nov. 12 -- Mumbai has emerged as India's top data centre hub, accounting for 53 per cent of the country's total data centre capacity of about 1,530 megawatts (MW) as of September 2025, according to a report by CBRE. The city's dominance is linked to its proximity to global internet exchange points and submarine cable landing stations that connect India with the rest of the world.
The report, titled 'India's Data Centre Market in a New Era', stated that other major contributors include Chennai with 20 per cent, Delhi-NCR with 10 per cent, and Bengaluru with 7 per cent of the total capacity. Together, these four cities account for nearly 90 per cent of India's data centre infrastructure.
