Purnia, July 8 -- Purnia MP Pappu Yadav on Tuesday met with the kin of the five deceased who were allegedly burnt alive in Ranipatra village in the name of black magic on Monday.

While speaking to ANI, Pappu Yadav said that poor people cannot execute something like black magic or witchcraft and claimed that an "exorcist" came from outside to whom the victims went.

The Purnia MP said that the exorcist told villagers that there was a "witch" in the village and had done something to their child, and due to a superstition, the incident took place.
