Ashoknagar, Dec. 29 -- An illegal hotel operating in Madhya Pradesh's Ashoknagar district was demolished on Monday in a joint drive carried out by the district administration and Nagar Palika, an official said.

The action was taken because the hotel was constructed without obtaining the required permission from the Nagar Palika and without complying with regulations. Additionally, outstanding dues from the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board (MPEB) amounted to around Rs 5 lakh.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Shubhrata Tripathi said, "The hotel, identified as Azad Palace, is owned by Azad Khan, Shahid Khan and Rashid Khan. The hotel was being operated illegally here without taking required permissions under the Nagar Palika act. Additional...
