Shillong, May 7 -- A comprehensive mock drill was conducted in Shillong on Wednesday to assess the city's preparedness for handling emergencies and security threats. The drill was part of a nationwide civil defence initiative mandated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

During the civil defence mock drill, personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) actively participated in the drill, conducting casualty evacuations and simulating response strategies for various crisis scenarios.

The exercise aimed to evaluate coordination between local emergency services, including police, fire services, medical teams, and disaster response units.
