Lucknow, April 10 -- Bahujan Samajwadi Party supremo Mayawati on Thursday urged the state governments to set aside their "political interest" for the safety of Indians and take strict legal action against terrorists.
Her reaction came against the backdrop of the extradition of 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind Tahawwur Hussain Rana to India for trial.
"For the safety of Indians in India, all the state governments should leave aside their political interests and take fair and honest strict legal action against the terrorists under Indian law," Mayawati said, addressing a press conference.
Rana is being brought to India for trial after US Supreme Court rejected Rana's plea to stay his extradition to India, exhausting all judicial options.
