Lucknow, April 29 -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Tuesday defended the party's decision to expel and later reinstate certain leaders, including her nephew Akash Anand, stressing that such actions are taken in the interest of the party and its movement.

In a post on X, hitting out at "selfish and sellable" elements within the Bahujan Samaj for allegedly spreading false propaganda, she urged party workers to remain vigilant and fully support reinstated members.
