Mumbai, July 4 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday defended his Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's "Jai Gujarat" remarks and said that creating ruckus over the issue was unnecessary.
He recalled the time when Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar had raised the slogan "Jai Maharashtra, Jai Karnataka" during the unveiling of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue in the neighbouring state. Fadnavis added that all leaders speak what people like while keeping in mind the place they visit.
