Ludhiana, June 19 -- AAP candidate for Ludhiana West assembly by-polls, Sanjeev Arora, cast his vote along with his family in the early hours of the voting, which began at 7 am on Thursday.
"I have cast my vote. I appeal to the people of Ludhiana to cast their vote too," Arora told reporters.
Arora is an industrialist and a Rajya Sabha member of the party.
The bypoll has been necessitated after AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi died of a self-inflicted bullet injury in January this year.
The Congress has fielded Bharat Bhushan Ashu, a former minister and two-term MLA, in the constituency. The primary contest is expected between the Congress and the AAP. Jiwan Gupta is the BJP candidate.
