New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday expressed anguish on continuous and planned disruptions in the House and noted that people have great expectations from the representatives and they should utilise their time in the House for serious and meaningful discussions on problems and issues of public interest and important legislations.
In his valedictory remarks before the House was adjourned sine die at the end of the monsoon session, Birla said that sloganeering, displaying placards in the Lok Sabha or the parliament premises and planned disruptions harm the dignity of parliamentary proceedings.
