Moscow, Sept. 20 -- The "emotional" attitude of US President Donald Trump toward the Ukraine peace process is "completely understandable," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said, according to RT.

The US leader has repeatedly voiced frustration with the stalled process, admitting that he earlier believed Ukraine "would be easiest" to resolve given his ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"He's really let me down," Trump said on Thursday.

Asked about the remarks, Peskov indicated that Moscow understands Trump's disappointment, noting his personal involvement in efforts to settle the conflict.
