Los Angeles, Sept. 15 -- The ongoing 77th Primetime Emmy Awards has turned out to be a special night for actress Katherine LaNasa.

'The Pitt' star took home the trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series on Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

According to PEOPLE, LaNasa, who looked emotional on stage, thanked the Academy while holding the golden statuette. She shared how meaningful the honour was for her.

"Oh my goodness I am so proud and honored to receive this award from the Academy," she said. "My whole career I wanted to work for John Well and he elevates everything."
