Kolkata, Oct. 4 -- Karnataka LoP and BJP MLA R Ashoka on Saturday criticised the Congress government over its handling of flood and crop damage in the state.
Speaking to reporters here, R Ashoka said that around 10-12 lakh hectares of crop have been damaged due to rain in the state but the government has not provided compensation yet.
The BJP leader said, "It has been two months since the rains started. 10-12 lakh hectares of crops have been damaged. 52,000 hectares of crops have been damaged in Vijayapura district. The state government has not given compensation for crop damage so far...Two farmers have died by suicide. This was because of the injustice you have done."
