Udhampur, July 15 -- Jammu and Kashmir police constable Benia Amin, who secured a gold medal at the recently concluded World Police and Fire Games in USA, opened up on his journey as a sportsperson.

Part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Central Sports wrestling team, Amin outclassed a formidable American in the final.

Speaking after his win to ANI, Amin, hailing from Basantgarh said, "When I left my village in 2005, I dreamt of becoming something big and contested in numerous local competitions in Udhampur, then in Jammu. I got a lot of support from my friends, family and my department. I received 7-8 national medals before qualifying for this event. This hard work took me 20-25 years. The final was really tough.
