Jaipur, June 8 -- Several districts of Rajasthan witnessed an intense heatwave on Sunday, with the highest temperature of 47.4 degrees Celsius recorded in Sri Ganganagar.

According to the India Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, the temperatures recorded across different districts were 47.4degC in Sri Ganganagar, 46degC in Bikaner, 45.9degC in Barmer, 45.6degC in Churu, 45.4degC in Phalodi, 45.2degC in Jaisalmer, and 45degC in Kota.

A June 8 yellow alert, for heatwave and dust winds, was issued by the IMD for Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jaisalmer and Bikaner.

Additionally, the IMD has also issued an orange alert dated June 9 for Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh. A yellow alert has been issued in Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu...
