New Delhi, March 21 -- India aims to increase Coal Bed Methane (CBM) production to 5.0 million metric standard cubic meters per day (MMSCMD) by 2027-28, strengthening domestic energy security and reducing dependence on imported natural gas, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

With strong policy support, technological advancements, and rising investments, the CBM sector presents a lucrative opportunity for both domestic and international energy companies.
