New Delhi, Aug. 14 -- With few hours until India celebrates its 79th Independence Day, preparations are underway at the Red Fort in the national capital, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag and deliver his 12th consecutive speech to the nation from the ramparts of the historic monument.

Ahead of this significant day, the national flag is visible in every shop and on the roads. From everyday items to clothes, the three colours -- saffron, white, and green -- are dominating the markets everywhere across the country.
