Patna, July 31 -- Bihar Minister Ashok Choudhary welcomed the decision of the Nitish Kumar-led government to increase honorarium for ASHA and Mamta workers, saying that it would improve the quality of the health sector in the state.
"This was their long-pending demand. They play a significant role in providing health services in rural sectors. This decision will play a major role in improving the quality of the health sector of the state," Choudhary told reporters here.
Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, Nitish Kumar announced a significant hike in the honorarium for ASHA and Mamta workers in recognition of their contribution to improving rural health services.
