Shimla, March 7 -- Shimla Police has ramped up its efforts to tackle the growing drug menace in Himachal Pradesh. Over the past two years, the district police arrested more than 1,800 individuals involved in drug trafficking and consumption. In just first two months of 2025, nearly 175 people have been taken into custody, and 76 separate cases have been registered.

Shimla Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, in an exclusive interview with ANI, detailed the severity of the drug problem in the region and how the police force is combating it.
