Shimla, Aug. 9 -- The Leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Jairam Thakur, celebrated Raksha Bandhan at his official residence in Shimla on Saturday.

On this occasion, women tied a rakhi to him. Jairam Thakur wished all the people of Himachal Pradesh a happy Raksha Bandhan.

He said that due to heavy rains in the last 48 hours, life in most areas of the state is completely disrupted.

"In such a situation, the government is requested that the disaster-affected people, as well as tourists, should not face any kind of inconvenience," Thakur said.

He has also requested the people of the state and tourists to follow the instructions of the administration in view of the rain and take care of themselves and their families.
