Hyderabad, Jan. 10 -- Hyderabad is witnessing heavy traffic as thousands of people travel to their hometowns to celebrate the Sankranti festival. With extended holidays, roads leading out of the city are crowded, especially due to the large movement of students and employees.
People from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Bengaluru are returning to their native places, resulting in traffic congestion at several key junctions. LB Nagar, one of the major exit points of the city, is experiencing particularly heavy traffic since early morning.
Speaking to the ANI, Traffic Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) V. Sreenivasulu said that traffic arrangements were made in advance, keeping in mind the congestion witnessed during previous years.
