Uttarkashi, Aug. 6 -- Following continuous heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, roads on the NH-34 highway between Uttarkashi and Gangotri have been damaged, according to the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). A 100-meter stretch at Papadgad was washed away, and large debris blocked the road near Dharali.

The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is working to repair the damage despite the ongoing rain and difficult conditions.

Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a disaster management meeting at the State Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) to assess the cloudburst and flash flood in Uttarkashi's Dharali.
