Porbandar, Aug. 12 -- The Gujarat government has planned extensive Independence Day Celebration at Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. The flag-hoisting ceremony will be held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

The Gujarat Legislative Assembly speaker, Shankar Chaudhary, will hoist the flag at Mehsana. Members of the State Cabinet and District Collectors will hoist the flag at various district headquarters.

Meanwhile, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday participated in the 'Har Ghar Tirangaa' Bike rally with Members of Parliament in Delhi ahead of the Independence Day on Friday.
