Patna, Dec. 24 -- Union Minister Giriraj Singh has launched a sharp attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, linking the recent unrest in Bangladesh with alleged appeasement politics in West Bengal and escalating his rhetoric ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections in the state.

Addressing the media in Patna, Singh described the developments in Bangladesh as "unfortunate" and drew a controversial comparison with Pakistan. "What has happened in Bangladesh is unfortunate. Bangladesh has taken the path of Pakistan, and I believe that some people in Bengal are imagining a Bangladesh. This is not possible, and Mamata Banerjee is probably thinking the same," he said.
