Chandigarh, March 20 -- : The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday issued instructions to candidates contesting the ensuing Lok Sabha polls to submit one extra recent stamp size photograph, in addition to one submitted by them along with the nomination form, for printing on the ballot paper.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab, S. Karuna Raju said that earlier candidates were required to submit one stamp size photo to be printed on the ballot paper. However, the nomination form was amended and a box was provided in the nomination form itself where candidates were asked to affix their photo.
The ECI had considered the matter in the light of the subsequent amendments in the nomination form, the CEO said.
