Naypyitaw, May 30 -- An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 jolted Myanmar on Friday, a statement by the National Center for Seismology (NCS) said.
As per the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10km, making it susceptible to aftershocks.
In a post on X, the NCS said, "EQ of M: 4.2, On: 30/05/2025 13:13:28 IST, Lat: 20.78 N, Long: 97.00 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Myanmar."

Earlier on Thursday, an earthquake of 4.5 magnitude struck the region, as per the NCS.
In a post on X, the NCS said, "EQ of M: 4.5, On: 29/05/2025 05:32:05 IST, Lat: 23.14 N, Long: 94.46 E, Depth: 85 Km, Location: Myanmar."
