Patna, Feb. 16 -- With Indian Railways announcing to run a special train for Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh in the wake of the Stampede at the New Delhi Railway Station, authorities in Bihar said that adequate forces have been deployed at the platforms to maintain the crowd. As many as 18 people were killed and many more were left injured in the fatal incident.
Sushil Kumar, Railway Protection Force (RPF) Inspector at Patna Junction, told ANI, "For the special trains, apart from the rail announcement, we are making announcements at our level also... A large section of our population has only one aim: to reach Prayagraj by hook or by crook. We are present at the platforms in large numbers to maintain the crowd."
