New Delhi, March 3 -- In a significant ruling, the Delhi High Court refused to ban children from bringing smartphones to school. The court clarified in its decision that the use of smartphones does not negatively impact teaching, discipline, or the overall educational environment in the classroom.

Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani passed the directive during the hearing of a petition filed by a student seeking guidelines regarding the use of mobile phones in schools.
