New Delhi, Jan. 28 -- The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice on a plea filed by Congress MP Karti Chidambaram challenging the framing of charges against him in the alleged Chinese Visa scam case being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
A single-judge bench of Justice Manoj Jain also issued notice on Chidambaram's application seeking a stay of further proceedings. The petition assails the trial court's order dated December 23, 2025, by which Chidambaram was directed to face trial.
The plea contends that there is a complete absence of essential ingredients required to invoke Sections 8 and 9 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, as well as Section 204 of the Indian Penal Code. It has been argued that there is not...
