New Delhi, Feb. 24 -- Newly elected Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta offered prayers at the Jhandewalan Temple in the national capital ahead of the first session of the eighth legislative assembly session.

Earlier in the day, people also gathered outside her residence to greet her.

The election of the legislative assembly speaker will be held today at 2 pm while the newly elected MLAs will participate in the oath-taking ceremony at 11 am.
