New Delhi, July 16 -- : CPI MP D Raja on Tuesday gave a Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha over a demand to 'extend time for Draft New Education Policy'.

This comes a month after the Centre made changes to the new Draft National Education Policy, making 'Hindi' an optional language. The step was taken following allegations levelled by several states over imposition of Hindi language.

"In keeping with the principle of flexibility, students who wish to change one or more of the three languages they are studying may do so in Grade 6 or Grade 7, so long as they are able to still demonstrate proficiency in three languages (one language at the literature level) in their modular Board Examinations sometime during secondary school," read the tweaked...
