New Delhi, Jan. 15 -- Canada's High Commissioner to India Christopher Cooter has described the ongoing Commonwealth Speakers' meeting as a significant "reaffirmation of democratic values and historic ties among member nations, particularly between India and Canada."

He said, "Our speaker is here today, and it was Canada that actually founded this organization of the Commonwealth Speakers."
