New Delhi, Dec. 31 -- The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has written to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), seeking urgent intervention against Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL) for alleged denial of Right of Way (RoW) permissions and imposition of exclusive in-building telecom arrangements at the newly developed Navi Mumbai International Airport.
In a letter addressed to the DoT Secretary and Chairman of the Digital Communications Commission, Neeraj Mittal, COAI stated that NMIAL qualifies as a "public entity" under the Telecommunications Act, 2023 and the Telecommunications (Right of Way) Rules, 2024, and is therefore statutorily obligated to grant RoW permissions in a non-discriminatory and time...
