Ottawa, Oct. 20 -- India's new High Commissioner to Canada, Dinesh Patnaik, has credited Canada Prime Minister Mark Carney for playing a "very big role" in restoring normalcy in India-Canada relations, while dismissing former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegations against India as "preposterous and absurd."

In an exclusive interview with CTV's Question Period on Sunday (local time), Patnaik said that the recent improvement in ties between New Delhi and Ottawa was "inevitable," but it was Carney's leadership that helped bring the two sides back together.
