New Delhi, June 12 -- Members of the Indian cricket fraternity expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families on Thursday after a London-bound Air India flight crashed shortly after takeoff in Gujarat's Ahmedabad.
The Boeing 787-8 aircraft, carrying 242 people including 12 crew members, went down at 1:38 PM, near Ahmedabad airport.
Indian Fast-bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who hails from Gujarat, shared his grief on Instagram Stories: "Prayers and strength for everyone affected by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad."
All-rounder Hardik Pandya also offered his condolences: "Heartbreaking to hear about the crash in Ahmedabad. Prayers and strength to the families of those affected."
