New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- BJP MPs on Tuesday called the election of C P Radhakrishnan as the Vice President of India as a historic and unprecedented victory for the NDA, crediting the broad support he received across party lines.

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said the outcome reflected the unity of the NDA. "It has been a great success and all the NDA allies gave unprecedented support, and due to that, it was a better success than expected," he remarked.

Calling the win "historic," BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said it symbolised the triumph of patriots. "This is a very big thing for us, this victory is historic, this is the victory of patriots against the supporters of Naxalites... this is what is called the voice of the conscience," he said.
