New Delhi, Jan. 8 -- Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commenced the supply of semi-high-speed underslung traction converters for the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train project from Thursday. This development marks the company's entry into the semi-high-speed propulsion segment as part of a consortium with Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL).
According to a BHEL press release, the initial set of equipment was dispatched from the company's Bengaluru facility to Kolkata for final assembly into the sleeper train units.
