Ayodhya, Jan. 28 -- An surge in devotees visiting the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya on Tuesday prompted the General Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Champat Rai, to appeal to nearby devotees to postpone their visit, allowing those from distant areas to have easier access to the temple.

The influx is attributed to the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, where devotees take a holy dip before visiting the Ram temple.

Rai explained that Ayodhya's size is not sufficient to accommodate such a large crowd, as around 10 crore devotees are expected to take a holy dip at Sangam in Prayagraj on January 29 following 'Mauni Amavasya'. Afterward, many of them are likely to head for Ayodhya.
