Senapati, Aug. 30 -- The Assam Rifles, along with the police, as part of its ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking, conducted a search operation between Hengbung and Senapati in the Senapati district of Manipur on Friday.
The operation led to the apprehension of one individual suspected of being involved in narcotics smuggling and the recovery of brown sugar and Rs 2.5 lakh cash from him, said the Assam Rifles in a press release.
The total weight of the seized narcotics is approximately 2.816 Kgs with an estimated value of Rs 7.5 crores, based on international market rates.
