New Delhi, Jan. 8 -- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and urged the Centre to grant statutory status to Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh by introducing a Bill in Parliament, terming it vital for the state's long-term development and stability.

The meeting took place on Wednesday, after the Chief Minister's visit to the Polavaram project. During the discussions, both leaders reviewed key development and welfare initiatives related to Andhra Pradesh.
