Birmingham, March 14 -- Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen stormed into the quarterfinals of the ongoing All England Open badminton tournament on Thursday.

Sen beat Anders Antonsen of Denmark by 24-22, 11-21, 21-14 in a tense match-up that lasted 39 minutes.

The Indian mixed doubles duo of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponappa on the other hand lost in their pre-quarters clash to China's Zhang Shu Xian and Zheng Yu by 21-11, 11-21, 11-21 in a match that lasted 36 minutes.

Later, the top-ranked men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be in action, taking on Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Bagas Maulana in the second round.
