Lucknow, Feb. 8 -- Following Samajwadi Party's defeat in Milkipur Assembly bypolls, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of "misusing" electoral machinery to secure victory in the elections.

Lashing out at the BJP after his party's defeat, Yadav alleged that the BJP carried out "electoral fraud" by "manipulating" officials in the Milkipur seat and added that this will not work in UP Assembly elections.

"BJP cannot face the growing power of PDA (Pichre, Dalit, Alpashankhak) on the basis of votes, that is why it tries to win by misusing the electoral machinery." Yadav wrote on X.
