New Delhi [India], February 12 (ANI): Hospitals are reporting significant success in treating multiple myeloma, with patients undergoing advanced therapies, including second autologous stem cell transplants have exhibited improved long-term survival rates.
Dr Shyam Aggarwal, Chairperson of Medical Oncology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, reported the case of a 70-year-old patient with myeloma who underwent a second autologous stem cell transplant.
He highlighted that despite her advanced age and a relapse occurring seven years after her initial diagnosis, the disease was successfully managed due to advanced treatment protocols.
