New Delhi, March 19 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha member from Sangrur, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, raised Punjab's 'long-standing' water issues during the ongoing budget session of Parliament, said a press statement.

He asserted that Punjab, despite being a riparian state, has not received its fair share of water, particularly from the Yamuna River, following the reorganization of the state.

Meet Hayer said that drinking water is getting polluted. He said that the entire Malwa region is struggling with clean drinking water and is suffering from cancer.
