New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Punjab government has demanded the immediate release of its pending Rs 50,000 crore from the Centre, even as it agreed to the proposed GST rate cuts during the recent Group of Ministers (GoM) meetings, as per an official release.
Punjab Finance Minister and senior AAP leader Harpal Singh Cheema said the state has suffered a loss of over Rs 1.11 lakh crore since the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), with the Centre releasing only Rs 60,000 crore so far, while more than Rs 50,000 crore remains pending. He also flagged an additional Rs 8,000 crore due under the Rural Development Fund (RDF).
