Mumbai, Feb. 22 -- The New India Assurance Company is focusing on a strategy that combines digital technology with a human value chain to expand its reach across India. Speaking at the 25th Global Conference of Actuaries (GCA) at BKC, Chairman and Managing Director of New India Assurance Company, Girija Subramanian, said that while the company is moving toward digital transformation, human interaction remains essential for growth in rural areas.

Despite having a 107-year history, the government-owned insurer is looking to adopt new technologies. However, Subramanian noted that a purely digital model may not work for the entire country.
