New Delhi, March 26 -- Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Saugata Roy on Wednesday attacked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over his recent statement claiming that Muslims are the safest in the state.

The TMC MP accused Adityanath of being communal and pushing an agenda to demolish mosques in order to build temples.

"Yogi Adityanath is communal. He wants to demolish mosques to build temples. We want to oppose leaders like Yogi Adityanath. This statement is incorrect. What happened in Sambhal? Didn't a riot break out there recently?" said Saugata Roy.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday assured that people from all religions are safe in the state, asserting that as a Yogi, he wishes for everyone's happiness.
