Hyderabad, Oct. 25 -- BJP leader Prakash Reddy on Saturday praised the Election Commission of India's decision to conduct a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Tamil Nadu before the elections, saying that "SIR will set an example for the country".

Speaking to ANI, Reddy said, "SIR means a completely new voter list. Now, the Election Commission has decided to conduct this type of SIR in Tamil Nadu before the elections. There are seven states that are going to face elections next year in 2026. I believe that in a true democracy, and especially in the electoral process, the electoral roll is the main system, and unless we correct the electoral voter list, I don't think democracy will function in a positive way."
