Siliguri, Feb. 28 -- After TMC National General Secretary and MP Abhishek Banerjee's remarks on joining the BJP, Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar rejected the idea of accepting Banerjee into their party, calling him a "rotten potato" and stating that his presence in TMC only serves to highlight the party's alleged corruption.
"There is no difference between Abhishek Banerjee and Mamata Banerjee. Whatever kind of corruption he does, Mamata Banerjee is well aware of it all. We are not ready to accept Abhishek Banerjee (in our party). Why should we take a rotten potato?. His staying in TMC is our USP. We can point towards him and say that the Chief of thieves is in TMC," Majumdar said.
