New Delhi, July 23 -- Former Union Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani has dismissed suggestions of retirement from politics, saying that the journey is far from over and hinting at an earlier-than-expected comeback.

In an exclusive interview with Aaj Tak, Irani reflected on her political career, addressed speculation surrounding her 2024 Lok Sabha loss from Amethi, and spoke about her return to television after more than a decade, reprising her iconic role as Tulsi Virani.

Responding to speculation about her political comeback, Irani said, "Why talk about 2029? Who knows what BJP will say in 2029? Why not 2026 or even 2025?" She emphasised that despite not being in the Lok Sabha, she remains actively engaged in public life.
